South Main Energy Evaluation

Now is the Best Time for You to Get an Energy Audit and Upgrade Your Home!

South Main residents should now consider retrofitting their residences since Vancouver sets an ambitious emissions example for Canadian cities. The Vancouver city council is spearheading the transition to renewable energy for homes, with an ambitious goal of requiring all large commercial buildings to use only renewable energy by 2040. Retrofitting one's home to make it more energy efficient is a simple way for South Main residents to help. "Our specialized consultants at Energy Werx are helping homeowners get top-of-the-line guidance on how they may help B.C. achieve emission reduction goals by 2030 and reach net zero by 2050," claims Josh Kovac, the owner of the B.C. Franchise.

Upgrading insulation and windows and replacing existing heating systems like furnaces with heat pumps can help decrease greenhouse gas emissions. Retrofitting a home to increase airtightness can help improve indoor air quality and the resilience of the buildings. In the past couple of years, South Main residents experienced record high temperatures in the summer, and the effects of the heatwave were devastating to the local communities. Homes in South Main are generally not built to withstand high temperatures, and this is where heat pumps and improved insulation can help keep you cool and reduce planet-warming greenhouse gas emissions.
